The Hudson County Umpires Association (HCUA) provides baseball and softball officials for the high school level, and beyond, throughout the year. For more information, call Steve Goldberg at 201-401-8537.
The Hudson County Umpires Association consists of over 100 highly trained men and women, and provides professional officials for baseball and softball at the high school level and beyond. It is affiliated with the UANJ, NJSIAA, and the NFHS. Its members go through a rigorous training of three months, both in the classroom and on the field, and are then required to take both a local and a state test.
Testing consists of the “Rules of the Game,” Field Mechanics, and Health and Safety issues associated with baseball/softball. Once certified, members are expected to take “refresher” courses annually. Not an easy road, but a very gratifying one. Hudson County Umpires Association is believed to be the “senior” association within the state of New Jersey! If you have what it takes, then come join us!
